Shadowbrook Inn & Resort
About
Nestled within the foothills of the Endless Mountains, Shadowbrook Inn & Resort enjoys beautiful scenery that perfectly complements the enjoyable round. The par-3 holes are especially scenic. The lush, rolling terrain provides interesting elevation changes that come into play, especially on the slightly tougher front nine holes. Golfers are quickly introduced to the challenges of the golf course with accurate drives being required on several holes of the first half but the back nine is much gentler, it is no less fun though. There are also some straight, uphill holes that golfers will have to contend with on the back nine. One of the golf course's most memorable holes is the par-3 16th, which is a tricky downhill hole that is one of the few that plays over water.

back 9 had some really unique and fun holes
First time golfing here the staff was very welcoming and the course was in great shape, will definitly be returning to this course very soon. Only thing i could complain about is there are no signs pointng to the next hole, for a first timer i got lost a time or 2
Great Course Got Better
W have been playing this course for a number of years and it is in the best shape that we have ever seen. The construction caused the nearby natural gas industry is complete. Course was not busy and we were able to play a leisurely round with our friends. The only hiccup was that the 1st Tee children were there and the holes were played out of order.
Bad Layout
While the conditions were nice, the layout has not changed a bit. The back 9 is my least favorite 9 holes of golf anywhere
Putting at a premium
Greens are rolling beautifully, great scoring challenge for lower handicaps, but at the same time, wide open enough for the beginner to get around. One of the most fun courses in the area, been playing it for over a decade and I keep coming back
Shadowbrook 6/16/14
Course is good for the average player. Fairways are wide and greens were in OK shape. Liitle slow for my taste.
Scenic Course
Nice clean course with a scenic view. A friend didn't realize there was a dress code prior to play. Staff was friendly and understanding. Bogey's pub has a large variety of drinks and Taco Wednesday is worth the $1.
From the burgs
Excellent course and bar. The course is open great for beginners didn't lose one ball.
Nice course. Nice price
Very nice layout. Challenge to find balls out of fairways. Green were in good shape. Tee boxes were average. A lot of nice holes and some challenging ones. Beautiful scenery.
Greens in great shape
Great day for golf. Played 18 with cart for around $15.00. Played through many groups without problems. Very friendly for singles looking to get in a quick 18
Great experience
Course was in good shape just was in the process of redoing one of the greens but still worth it
mixed bag
This course has a bit of a split personality.
There are some very nice, interesting golf holes like the short par 4 number 3, which features a tight, semi-blind tee shot and a fairway that gets tighter and tighter the closer you get to the hole. It has two quality par 3s, and 3 quality par 5s, and all the greens are small, firm, fast, and true.
But for every good hole, you are forced to endure a hole that is boring, featureless, or in the case of number 11, just plain silly. Most of the back 9 is built along the side of a steep hill, and the routing does not use it to good effect. Some of the holes come off as gimmicky and contrived.
For every green that presents a fun, challenging target, there is a green that has such a severe slope and extreme falloff that is resembles miniature golf more than resort golf.
Conditioning has improved recently, and is actually quite good. Pace of play is not monitored at all, and at the wrong time could be excruciating. The staff is not the friendliest, and on my last visit I got a bit of attitude from the proshop for using a golfnow hotdeal.
If you get a hotdeal at a time unlikely to be busy and slow, then take it. But avoid paying top dollar, especially at peak times.
Greens lightening fast !!
Course was groomed fabulous , very clear of leaves. The greens where lightening fast . Made it a challenge to putt !
Good value.
Tim in the pro shop was very heplful for our first time there. The course was nice. Some fun holes, some tough ones too. The greens are small and were rather fast which made it tough to keep a ball on the greens. Would definately play again.
Shadowbrook is worth your time
I'm from the Binghamton NY area and have played Shadowbrook many times in the past 15 years. The course has seen good times and bad, with two major floods and a bout or two with blight. The most recent challenge was the gas pipeline, which went right through the 9th and 11th fairways. The course is nearly healed though, and it looks like some of that pipeline cash founds its way back into the .maintenance budget. The course was in good shape when my foursome played it on 10/04/13. The front 9 is mostly flat, with some decent bunkering and interesting holes. The river runs right by you and the course seems almost fairy tail like with all of the flora and fauna. The back 9 is all hill and shot placement is key. The course isn't overly long, but you'll want your driver in gear to take advantage of the scoring opportunities. If you're a fan of Geoffrey Cornish designs then you'll like this course. Golfnow hot rates for this course are phenomenal.
Fun & friendly
The course is in great shape, especially this late in the season. I highly recommend playing it before the snow flies.
No ranger to police players
We saw a sixsome on the course on the front 9, and I heard other golfers screaming at them.
We made the turn and went to #10 only to find two foursomes that had stopped to drink for 3 hours before going to the back nine. After watching the 1st group take 1/2 hour to play #10 and the 2nd group almost as long, we jumped around them and missed out on 3 holes. Saw these same 2 foursomes all playing together a while later on the back 9.
I doubt I'll be back there this year.
Nice course
Nice course. Very good pace of play. Not too busy on most weekends. Nice greens and average fairways.
