Shadowbrook Inn & Resort
About
Nestled within the foothills of the Endless Mountains, Shadowbrook Inn & Resort enjoys beautiful scenery that perfectly complements the enjoyable round. The par-3 holes are especially scenic. The lush, rolling terrain provides interesting elevation changes that come into play, especially on the slightly tougher front nine holes. Golfers are quickly introduced to the challenges of the golf course with accurate drives being required on several holes of the first half but the back nine is much gentler, it is no less fun though. There are also some straight, uphill holes that golfers will have to contend with on the back nine. One of the golf course's most memorable holes is the par-3 16th, which is a tricky downhill hole that is one of the few that plays over water.

Short Course, Odd Layout
The course is less than 6000 yards from the Blue Tees. 2 Par 4's are shorter than 250 yds; another 2 holes - #10 and #13 - are in the 300 yd range.
Very odd - and not well marked - course layout. The course has a pretty significant elevation change, particularly holes 12-18. For example, it was almost impossible to see the flag on #12 because the hole was so high above the tee.
All of the greens were really hard, so shots landing on the fly ricocheted off. The 18th green is small, and in very poor condition, as was the tee box on 18 and also on some other holes.
Always in good condition
I live close by and play this course about every other week. Why not right. I prefer a longer course but this course is always in excellent condition and it's not very difficult compared to Stonehenge. It has a nice mix of par 3,4,5's with some challenging pin locations and approach shots. # 15 requires a thoughtful approach which I always struggle with. #16 is nice par 3 over water with the tee box from up on a hill. When the wind is blowing its fun. Always nice to land it on the green here. The back 9 is hilly and I know people complain but hey this place is worth a round anytime.
The course has some very nice views.
The course needs a sprinkler system. It was very dry. Overall, it's worth the price you pay.
Great Course
Great course to play. Friendly and caring staff, well maintained course, beautiful surroundings. We will be back!!!
Billy Goat Golf
The front 9 layout is fine, but for the 6th hole, which seems like a mistake or they lost it in the Creek @ some point ? The Back 9 is built on a side hill, and not very playable once the course get firm in Summer. The conditions seem to have improved somewhat, but the greens still don't hold a shot no matter how high, or how much spin...
Great course and great value
Great course and this is really in excellent shape. The greens were spotless and tournament quality.
Great Day of Golf
My son and I played 18 holes and were impressed with the work that was done at the course since we last played it (last season). Fairways and greens were in good shape. Staff was extremely friendly. Front nine is easier then the back nine. Awesome scenery. Front nine played much slower then back nine do to many groups only playing nine. Over all a great experience. We will be playing there again soon.
nice course
took my grandson to play and this was perfect. the front nine is ok but the back nine is very diffrent you do not get a flat lie so you have to learn all types of golf.
Great Value
Shadowbrook is a very nice course and the scenery is beautiful
Great conditions
My wife and I golfed yesterday, first time at the course, and were very impressed. The staff was extremely professional, and the course was in fantastic shape! We will golf definately golf there again SOON!
Vacstioner
Golfing with my son while on vacation.Great course, great company! Just disappointed I didn't book stay sooner, there was a wedding and we couldn't get a room.We ended up staying at the Hsmpton and driving to the course.
Silly back nine
The back nine on this course is built for mountain goats. Everything is side hill, sloped or hidden. Also, no marshal on the course and many slow impolite players.
Excellent difficulty for all golfers
I am very much a beginner in golf. I have to say though that this course yields to the newcomers in the sport, while maintaining a degree of difficulty even for the experienced golfer. The only negative comments I could make is that the greens had been recently aerated..... thus making them a little rough. I was told by the staff that they are working diligently to get their course conditions corrected and assured me the future holds pristine conditions for Shadowbrook. I look forward to playing there again in the future.
a course that might improve your game
greens were aerinated, very bumpy, fairways were good, couple of the greens were diseased, overall now a bad place to let the air out
Great experience
I was pleasantly surprised by my round at Shadowbrook. The course was in terrific condition, the staff was very friendly, and the pace was so good that I finished the round in about 3 hours (as a single). I played on a cool summer evening and started on the back because the front was more crowded. The front 9 borders a creek, which was quite lovely and quiet as the sun was setting. I'll definitely come back next summer.
EXCELLENT COURSE AND FRIENDLY STAFF
This course is in great condition. A lot of time and money have been poured into this fun mountainous course. You can't beat the excellent inexpensive food and drink and the pro shop is extremely friendly and well stocked. I had an emergency and couldn't play the last 9 holes, but I was given a rain check for the nine with no hassle. I would recommend this course as a must play when in the area.
very nice day of golf
The course was in excellent condition. The greens were a little hard so you had to play short but we haven't had much rain so that was to be expected. Played as a twosome and was paired up with a very nice couple..pace of play was perfect and the staff was very friendly. Will definitely play again.
Great Experience
Staff was very friendly. Course was in great condition. I'm just an average golfer and the course was somewhat challenging for me. One of the best courses in the area, for sure. Will definitely go again.
Great Time
As always was in good condition. Staff in the pro shop could have been a bit friendlier but the computers were down so I understand their frustrations. Overall great course.
local hackers hangout
Too many ball flying everywhere. Dangerous at times as you heard "fore" on almost every hole from different groups.
