Royal Manchester Golf Links
About
Situated along the shores of the Susquehanna River, Royal Manchester Golf Club is tucked away in the rolling hills of northern York County. The course is just a few miles outside Harrisburg but the traditional links design will transport you to the seaside courses of the British Isles. Like the Old Course at St. Andrews and Royal Latham, which served as the inspiration, the golf course has an open, windswept landscape with only two bodies of water. The 15th, the longest par 3 on the course, is the only hole set among the few trees that dot the landscape. The most formidable challenge comes from the prevailing winds as well as the strategically placed bunkers. Royal Manchester Golf Club finishes with a memorable view of its signature waterfall that cascades down into a sparkling pond.

Fantastic Course
I was surprised at the conditions of the course. The greens were rolling true and had minimal blemishes. The layout is fantastic. As long as you keep it out of the high grass, you are able to score well. I will playing here again and I would recommend anyone who hasn't played there.
Great Greens
Greens are smooth and true. Layout is fun and interesting.
Great Course
Beautiful layout, great conditions. Challenging, but fair course. Play from your proper tees, to enjoy the course.
Royal pleasure! Most of the time
This is one of my favorite courses in pa. Great challenging layout, greens roll fantastic, only bad thing I can say is we were behind a group of 16, most of them hit the ball a 100 yards at a time, 5hr 45 min round on a Friday afternoon 90 plus degrees was not fun at all!! Could use a ranger to speed up play! That's the only negative I can say after I've played this course 6 times or so! Food is great!
Best Value Period & Best Conditions
I am from Delaware and have played All the top public & private courses at the beach, I have also played some of the best courses in Las Vegas & AZ. The course conditions here are EXCELLENT, Royal Manchester's conditions where as good or better than any course I have played. The layout was challenging but not overly difficult, penalizing when hit off line, but a nice score is possible with straight shots. My wife is a beginner and was able to score well and enjoy her round, so I would say its a fair course. You CAN NOT beat the value of this course! We payed $37 for a Hot Deal, normally $45 for weekday, $68 weekend, $35 & $45 for twilight respectively, this course is as good or better than the $100-$120 resort courses here Delaware. Will Definitely play here next time I am in the area.
2nd Stab and will be back
Greens putt true and in superb condition. Fairways, if you can find them are plush. The layout is exciting and challenging! A great links style course.
Great course
Course has plenty of fescue grass but you get yourself in trouble on this course. No tress and plenty of room for a stray shot. A few holes with water. I place this course in the upper echelon.
best course in york pa
love this course with its beautiful tee boxes, fairways and greens. staff is excellent. go and play....
Very good layout.
Outstanding layout. Many options from several tees on each hole allow players of different levels to enjoy each hole.
Pace of play
Before we went to the first tee, the starter told us to keep the pace of play moving. He also said the would be checking times. Well, it was 2 hours and 40 minutes when we walked off the ninth hole. So I asked the staff if that was exceptable? All I got was attitude that they had a full course, it was a hard course and that not everyone is a good golfer. We were the third group waiting on the 10th tee, 3 hours 5 minutes we were able to tee off of hole #10. Five groups a head of us the golf course was wide open, they didn't want to hear it. 5 hrs and 40 minutes later my round ended. In 2012 I had a six hour round here so Sorry, I won't be back.
Hidden Gem
Great course that truly resembles British link golf. The course was in immaculate. The PGA couldn't have prepared a better course. The greens were fast and pure. The course is relatively open (in links style), however the fescue grass is unquestionably a one-stroke penalty. Take your medicine and hit back into the fairway, don't try to be a hero and advance the ball.
Great Course
The course is always in fantastic shape. Greens are challenging and the fairways are maintained very well. If you aren't hitting the ball straight on the fairway bring a sleeve of golf balls because the high grass will eat your golf balls. All and all this is my favorite course in the entire area of Mechanicsburg/York area.
Thanks,
Kirk
Great course
Wonderful greens, great layout. Challenging and probably not as beginner friendly as some others. I really like this course.
Beautiful
A beautiful and challenging course. Great golf now deals that allow you to play a high quality course, for what I considering, a fraction of the cost.
Flawless
The only thing bad I can say about this place is that it ruins every other golf course I play. This is the course that I put other courses up against. These are hands down the best greens in the greater area. They have a phenomenal range and practice area. I just can't say enough about this place.
Great course layout, great views
The greens had recently been aerated and were just about fully grown back. Outside of this course was perfect. Always a nice track.
Great value
It isn't on the beaten path but it's worth a road trip. I played this course twice and the second time was just as good as the first and I don't think it will be the last time I go there. The course layout provides great diversity in holes that go both ways over the hilly terrain of the area. The greens are big and challenging if you get on the wrong tier of them. Ample bunkering will come into play on stray shots but the fairways are generous and mounding on the sides of some holes will actually help bounce your ball back toward the fairway. There are areas where fescue grasses are grown up in season making for a scenic view but also for difficulty finding a ball that goes near them. The ninth is a shortish par 5 to a narrow green that is fronted by water. I have played there twice and carried the green both times in two but ended up behind it both times. It's a fun hole. The 18th is a tough par 4 but the downhill fairway will give you roll to get closer to a green with a large water hazard guarding it.
