Nice Links
Very nice links course, challenging and in good shape for this time of year.
very nice look and feel
really nice course, very challenging. you will need all your clubs. tee boxes and fairways were in excellent condition considering winter just ended.
Good Friday morning
A lot of serious trouble with deep pit bunkers and multi-tiered greens. Pace of play was great on a cold, rainy day with no one there. I can see how the pace would be a turtles stride with the course difficulty and the high handicappers. I will be back, the earlier the better.
Very nice course. Exceptional staff.
We booked a Sunday round and mistakenly showed up Saturday. They still managed to get us out without a huge problem. Very classy. All staff were super friendly. The round moved well despite the volume of play. The course was in great shape for December. We will definitely return in season.
Great course!!
First time playing this course but it won't be the last time. This is A course you have to play.
Lederach
Great course around beautiful homes. At no time, will you every come close to a house. Course is excellent and can't wait to play it again.
Great course!!
Lederarch has 18 really good holes. Everyone talks about the 600 yard 12th hole, but #15 might be the toughest hole on the course. Green complexes provide lot of shot options.
Put some sand in the bunkers!
Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in very good condition, Bunkers were not! Most bunkers had standing water in them and not much sand. Don't know if it's a drainage issue or not. Other than that, I really like this course and the layout.
Decent course, a little expensive for what it is.
Have played Lederach at least a dozen times in the past. Had a very enjoyable round there last week very early in the am (6:30 am). Course is in good condition. As others have said, some people hate the course because of the tricky greens, and some other strange design factors. However, I think this is a challenging layout that is enjoyable to play. I'm not a fan of the greens but otherwise I like the course. It would be nice if they would use a ranger to speed up play on the weekends, sometimes it is very slow and there seems to be no attempt to correct.
Slow, sloppy and surly.
Early tee time found lots of standing water and saturated fairways. Over 5 hours for 18 holes. When mentioned the slow pace to "Player assistant" was told "Sorry sir, That's how it is here every day, especially on weekends"
Tried to grab a hot dog at the turn, but no staff was available.
Won't be going back any time soon.
Greens were excellent
If you want a semi links course that's kept in great condition with extremely difficult greens on EVERY HOLE then this is your course.
A cut above many local courses
The weather was great; the course was in very good condition for a busy public course. However, the placement for many of the pins was odd if they want to keep pace of play to 4 hours, or 4.5 on weekends. The greens are huge, but the pins were in places that could easily slow down play, and hurt scoring for most golfers. The course is reasonably challenging from the 6000yard green tees, especially for our threesome of 65-year old 15 to 20 handicappers. A good value overall with the special rate--a little high without it.
Nice course fair price.
Really nice course. Fast greens very undulating. Gotta get the ball on the right level. Better knowledge of pin placement would help a lot. A zone chart in the cart would speed up play. Less reading of the greens if u can knock it close
To many Twosomes
We got paired up with another twosome . Behind us they had 3 other twosomes did not understand why they did not pair them up. Then asked us to speed up to catch the threesome in front of us . Poor management on a Friday afternoon
Are you kidding me?
I've played this course about 6 times and I've been pretty disappointed each time. After some years, you would think the rough and grasses would have matured, but they still have not settled yet. Plenty of small rocks and hardpan(bare) lies throughout the course.
The good: The layout is very interesting and the par 3s are very fun to play. The par 5 12th hole is a monster and is a very enjoyable hole. The clubhouse is well maintained and there is a decent range on course.
The bad: We teed off at 6:15 and were the third group out. Nevertheless, we took over 5 hours to play due to slow groups. We waited about 5 minutes before every shot! The staff did nothing about the groups in front that refused to let us play through. The greens are a joke, I understand trying to give golfers a challenge but the greens reminded me of a minigolf circus course. To add to that, the pin placements were too close to the edges of greens and on severe slopes.
The ugly: As if the slow play was not bad enough, they top it off with horrendous customer service. The girl at the register is extremely rude and disrespectful. They seem to forget that they are running a business in which reputation matters. For a course that charges like a top tier course, the bunkers look to be completely neglected and are in terrible condition. Also, expect to find plenty of fallen tree trunks and branches all over.
In conclusion, for the price, the course is definitely not worth your time and money. If you're looking for a great public golf course experience nearby, try Berkleigh, Macoby Run, or Bella Vista. They all treat you like valued customers and don't take 5+ hours to play. Plus, conditions are exponentially better than Lederach. I've given this course 6 tries and its failed each time. I definitely will not be returning anymore.
best course in the area
This is worth your money and time. The speed is a bit on the low end but the challenging greens are worth it. Enjoy.
Course was in excellent Condition
The course was in excellent condition and the pace of play was very good. It is uniquely designed with a lot of risk-reward type holes and strategically placed bunkers and mounds which give you a lot of pause for reflection as to what club to use.We found it to be both fair and challenging.
Can't beat $40 on a friday morning here
Course is excellent, great shape, challenging greens and pin locations. Pace of play was slow because of a group of 3 older gentlemen that played from the whites?? Myself and 2 other guys (28 years old) are about 11-15 handicaps. We played from the tips and got done in 4hr 15min. 740am tee time. $40 was a steal. This course is top 4 public in the greater suburban Philly area without a doubt
where I got my first birdie
This is a very nice course and your able to challenge yourself with different tee boxes I would recommend this course to everyone
Know who is playing
Great course we breezed through front nine between 3:30 and 5 pm then failed to finish 17 & 18 by 7:30 because of league play that teed off 10 and were very slow in front of us.
