Good course for the money
I always like playing here the course is in good shape and the value is great. Pace of play is my only beef, why don't people let a single play through. Ugh
Big Bang
First time playing here and was super excited until we realized we were following an outing... however, they paced you enough that even when we caught up to the outing we didn't wait long...
staff was super friendly and helpful, the course was nice and I can always remember it as being the first place I broke 100! As long as your there for the golf and not the amenities you are good to go!
The driving range next door was something to see for sure! I won't give it away but it was an interesting (fun) experience....
Great Golf Course for the Value
This course was in great condition, friendly staff and a great layout!
B;ackwood
The fairways were good. Rough was long and could use mowing. Green speeds were good.
Some greens had spots with no grass making them bumpy.
Pace of play was about 4 hrs.
Course is good for all golfers.
Got a great deal on Golf Now so we decided to play. It's the first time playing here in a few years. The fairways and greens were in great shape and there was not many people out not sure if it was to hot but was nice having the course to our self. for the price and the shape of the course would recommend playing here if you have not been here before.
Golf
I played this course lots in the past. It's great my first game of the 2017 season was played on this course I am a golfer with a physical handicap I had lesson with lochlahn lairne he is very good he saw my handicap and he worked with me and showed me ways to help swing and balance myself now I am doing well hitting pretty straight down the fairway
good place to practice your game only two greens could be considered good but it is still winter
Fun course
Fun course. Great value and very, very friendly staff
November golf is great
The course was lush and green which surprised me for this time of year. A fall day in Berks county for your backdrop is hard to beat. The value that GN brings to the table I would golf there again and again.
Better than I thought it was going to be
I was pleasantly surprised at the course and most of the conditions. The course itself is interesting . You don't need a driver on every hole and it's pretty wide open. For the majority it was in pretty decent shape, but there were areas on some of the greens that we're incredibly bad with either damage from the hot dry summer or some kind of disease. They also need more people working there. They only had one person working both the pro shop and the snack bar. I wanted to get a Gatorade before my round and I had to wait for 6 people to check in and pay for the round.
Not punishing
I like this course. It's not easy but it doesn't punish you. The rough is relatively short. If you're under a tree you can usually punch it back into play. During my round the greens had been airrated and the greens keepers were working on some tees so the starter gave me $5 off at the course.
I shot my first 84 here and during a different round got a hole in one on the 11th. Would recommend.
Good Value for the price
Course was recently aeriated to include Greens and Tee boxes so conditions were not ideal. Added to that there was Intermittent rain so the sand stuck to everything. Given the price, it was still a good experience
like the course
I like the layout of the course and the staff is friendly. The condition of the course wasn't great because of the lack of rain and it showed. Some of the greens were chewed up and the center of the fairway felt like you were hitting dirt.
Blackwood Golf Course
I have played this course before and despite the lack of rain the course was in fair shape. There are quite of holes that were indeed challenging. My son who is 8 years old really seemed to enjoy the course as he out played me on several holes. The highlight of the course was the staff. The lady in the Pro Shop did not have peanut butter and jelly sandwiches as most places do as my son loves them. He was so down and out about it that the lady offered hers to him. Great course and great staff.
Thank you for the review and Congrats on breaking 100! Just to clarify, Blackwood Golf Course is not associated with the driving range. While the two were at one time, the driving range has been separate for well over 10 years.
