Long Par 3s
I play here quite a lot. It's an open track with some challenging par 3's. The greens are somewhat small so your approach shots need to be accurate.
The bunkers are punishing because they really don't have sugary sand. The sand is somewhat packed typical of courses in the area.
My Round
The course was in good condition but wet and muddy in some places. Greens were good condition but speed was moderate. Pace of play was 3 hrs and 50 min. Weather was overcast with some wind and temps around 60.
the last round of the year
very nice course..........bunkers well done........I just wish the previous player would repair ball marks on very nice greens.........overall a nice closing round........wind blew our shots down so made club selection a little harder............overall nice course for types of players
nice course for the money
very nice course. layout different on each hole. greens were uneven on speed put think due to aeration recently. bunkers very nice the 2 I was in
ovwer all fun to play
Love playing here
I have played a lot here over the years. Shot one of my lowest scores here even had an Ace. The course is relatively short especially from the gold tees. The greens are receptive although slow rolling and in good shape even though some were getting aerated. Some of the bunkers have been returned to grass and the others are less then great but for the money it’s a great track. The large driving range across the street is a great place to warm up.
Enjoyable
Played a second round after a morning scramble so the course was wide open. Greens rolled smooth and course was in very good condition. Overall very enjoyable round. Nice place to go if you want to enjoy the day.
Great Course! Conditions were excellent. Had the opportunity to talk to a staff member about the condition of the course and how it's maintained, very friendly and answered my many questions. I was really impressed with the entire experience. Will be playing there again next thursday!!
Terrible Staff
The course was in decent shape, but the staff is extremely unfriendly and the so-called pro shop area with food is run down and expensive. High prices not worth your time.
Not an easy course for short hitters to score on.
I signed as a single and was paired with 2 brothers and their friend from Delaware County. They were very entertaining so it was a fun day.. This is a long course off the white tees if , like me, you average about 200 yds off the tee. Two of the par threes are 180-200yds as well. After I moved up to gold tees, course was much more manageable. I think this is one reason that play is slow - the group ahead of us could not reach the green in 2 shots from the white tees so we waited on every hole. There is no ranger to speed up play. The conditions were fine. Good sand in bunkers. The fairway grass was a tad long and the greens a bit slower that I would have liked. My biggest complaint , other than slow play, was the lack of any water to drink on the course.
Great course. A few challeging holes as well as 2 long par 5.
Beautiful Day
Course was in great shape. Greens were lush fairways were well manicured. Had an opportunity to play with a great guy who played with one arm. His positivity was inspiring.
Golfnow customers beware
If you are a frequent Golfnow customer and enjoy their great services
and discounts as I have for many years, I would not book a tee time
with this golf course. I booked a single for this course and traveled an
hour to play this course for the first time, the reviews and the course
layout seemed favorable. Upon arriving, the pro shop had special rules posted for Golfnow customers. I was told I would have to play
out of the same cart with an elderly person who was playing the front tees
no exception. My request for an additional cart was denied rudely. Golfnow
refunded my fee and I left. Blackwood G.C. is not Golfnow friendly.
Hot & Empty
Played on a extremely hot Wednesday afternoon, never had anyone in front of us, breezed :) through the 18. Course was in very good shape. No complaints.
Nice course
This is a great place to work in driving and hybrid clubs. Long par 3's and 4's. Nice green, even after all the rain. Friendly staff. All around great day of golf.
It does not have much curb appeal, but once you start playing and see the layout, it is a very interesting trac.
Dear Rick,
Perhaps you should take a moment to look at our other reviews, specifically the ones on our staff rating. You may also want to take a moment to read the GolfNow policy that clearly states that you will be paired with other players. When you signed up as a "single" as you put, it clearly stated that there was 1 spot left available at that time. This means at the time you signed up, you were automatically being paired up by GolfNow with other players from GolfNow. The reason our policy is in place is because of GolfNow users like yourself who continually insisted on having their own golf cart, refused to pair with other golfers, and didn't show up in a timely fashion for their tee time. In this particular case, you refused to be paired with a woman and insisted on having your own golf cart. No, we will not be giving out 4 individual golf carts for one tee time, nor will we be creating 4 tee times when there should only be one. When informed that we enforce GolfNow's policy and the fact that you were to be paired with a woman, you sir, are the one that became rude and accused of us of penalizing you for signing up for a hot deal. We are also uncertain as to how you feel your 1 star review holds any merit considering you never actually stepped foot on the course. But hey, to each their own, thanks for the one start review and best of luck to you as you play other courses.
