Pocono Hills Golf Course
About
Surrounded by the Pocono Mountains, the Pocono Hills Golf Course (formerly Fernwood Resort & Country Club) was carefully carved from wooded hillsides. Condos and other residences were later built near the golf course and although they are situated quite close, the round is still enjoyable. The layout is tight with narrow fairways that are lined with trees. The front nine is easier than the back where more dramatic elevation changes come into play. Many of the greens have elevations of over 50 feet, making approach shots a formidable test. There are also a number of tricky doglegs that are practically 90 degree turns. The layout rewards straight, accurate drives and the greens putt fast and true. There are a number of challenging holes, especially the 10th and 14th, but overall Pocono Hills Golf Course is approachable enough for all skill levels.

Great Day To Be Golfing
The course was in great shape. The ground crew were busy all day keeping the leaves out of the fairways and off the greens. Future repairs and up grades needed in the sand traps and lady tee boxs to complete the overall near perfect conditions. Of course if your not in the traps it doen't matter. I wasn't in any of them today and shot my low round for the season, playing with my daughter who also posted her low round for the season.
Can't wait to play there again.
Day oot with my daughter.
Very enjoyable day of golf. Spoke with the wait staff over lunch and found them to be friendly and informative about other attractions in the area. Also spoke with one of the course technicians about up coming work on the sand traps, all positive.
Wonderfull Round of Golf
I played with my daughter for the first time this year and really enjoyed our time togther playing this course. The fairways were kept clear of leaves and the greens were remarkable for a public course. Several of the traps could be edged and sand added. All & all a nice day.
Some updates
Some of the traps need to be redefined and sand added. They were no problem for me, because I wasn't in any. Observation only
.
Course was still recovering from recent heavy rain.
Some very demanding tight targets.
#10 was tough!
It lives up to its name but it's fair some blind Shots but don't putt above the hole.I A lot of deer
.
Good for the price.
Pretty course and grass was in good condition for late in the season in the northeast. The course is short and fairways are narrow. Many fairways and greens are on steep inclines. If you hit the side of a fairway the wrong way your ball may be gone.
However, if you’re in the area it’s a good course to try.
