Gilbertsville Golf Club in New Hanover Township is tucked away among the rolling hills of Montgomery County. The 27-hole public course is divided into three nines, called the Red, White, and Blue. The Red and White were the club's original 18 holes when it first opened in 1967, and the Blue nine was added 30 years later. Being one of the older nines, the White Course has a more traditional layout with small, mostly flat greens and wide fairways lined with trees. It's not the most formidable round at Gilbertsville G.C. but it does have a few challenges in store. There are some tricky doglegs and while water may only come into play on two holes, one of these -- the par-5 second -- will leave a lasting impression with a carry over a lake and a meandering stream that edges the right side and then cuts in front of the green.

Made a few craters on the greens and happily used the repair tool. Unfortunately choked on my few birdie putts. Photo submitted by u000007953538 on 11/18/2013

Old Country course
I had a lot of fun. I played with a guy from Pittsburgh We got done 18 in 2 hours 45 minutes
There was no bag drop, and no sign to signify that(yet, i was spoken to for pulling up to drop my bag as i do at the other 800 courses I've played.)
This does not make good business sense!!
The guys at the pro shop were friendly enough, and they gave a me a course map for free which was nice. The course played to my strengths. I played the red to the white, and shot well. It is wide open and EASY. Hardly any protection for the greens, and Wide lanes!!
I'd play there again!!
Great find.
Fine round of golf for the money. Yes , the fairways were still a little soft and the ball did sometimes plug, and yes it was cold and windy and yes it was cart path only but with few golfers on the course it turned out to be a good day to be outside on this early spring day playing a round of golf with my wife.
Great weekend value
This course is a hidden gem. I had never heard of it till this year and have played multiple times. The course is challenging but not intimidating to an average or below average player. The variety in hole distances can really give you all you could want. The red and blue course have some good elevation changes for the area. This course offers 27 holes and the staff is very accommodating if you want to mix an match when they are not overly busy. I highly recommend giving it a try and you cannot beat 18 and a cart for under $50 first thing in the morning on a weekend.
new lynx course in area?
seems like they are trying to turn this place into a lynx course. not a raked bunker on the course! every sand bunker now overgrown weed pit. use to be a favorite course butnow on my”do not play again” list
Nice course cool layout
My only complaints about my whole experience were that there was no range, but not a big deal. Secondly some parts of the cart paths weren’t paved lol. If that’s the biggest complaint you can tell the course was nice, good deal and fun to play all in all I would definitely play again
Short easy course
Greena were in great shape. Nice layout and had to hit all clubs and not just driver. Carts dont have rain coverage but were ok.
Disorganized mess
I'm going to start this by saying I don't write reviews for anything... ever. I arrived as a single for an early morning tee time and paid for my round. I was informed that I "might want to ask to join the two guys in front of me". Typically a course will assign groupings instead of making a suggestion that a golfer request to join the group in front of them. The starter was clueless about any of the players tee times in front of me and wasn't actually "starting" anybody. I arrived to the first tee at the exact time of my booked tee time to find a 4some on their second shot on the fairway, a foursome on the tee box, the two some that I was told I should ask to join was also waiting on the first tee box, and another single had slipped in on the first tee box in front of me as well.. That's 4 golfers on the first hole fairway and 7 on the first hole tee box at the same time. A total log jam mess to start what would have likely been a 5+ hour round of golf... When I went in to share this with the staff in the club house, one of them got on the computer to look at tee time bookings and mumbled something under his breath complaining about singles coming out to play by themselves. Im guessing the owner of the course wouldn't feel the same way about singles coming out to play the course and paying their weekend AM rate to do so. The other staff member got defensive and tried to explain this as a result of water damage they had recently sustained to the course and that they "couldn't control the weather" which made no sense.. I packed up and headed to another course. I did not request a refund as it is apparent that they need it more than I do and can put it towards the unforeseen water damage that caused them to allow 10+ golfers onto the first hole within 5 minutes of each other. I don't expect much from golf courses in this area but this was about as bad as it gets. Will not return. Do not recommend.
Great value
Course was in great shape concerning the steady rain conditions over the past month. It was a pleasure to spend a beautiful sunny day putting on such well-conditioned greens. The staff maintains this course with pride and dedication. It is a great value for your money and you will not be disappointed on any of the three nine hole tracks.
FUN DAY GOLFING
It has been constantly raining for the last few weeks so naturally the course was soaked.
But they definitely did the best they could considering the challenges.
Staff could not have been nicer.
Good course
Course was fantastic. Greens were nice despite all the rain. Faster than other public courses. The course needs some more length but it was a fun track.
White to Red
White course was very wet carts only. Rough was well rough. Greens keeper must be having trouble getting there equipment on the course. Red was 90 degree played well greens very receptive. Folks are always friendly. Enjoy playing the courses in different order.
Beat the rain
Had a noon tee time from Golf Now. The forecast was for rain starting at 1:30. Showed up an hour and a half early and asked if we could get out early. They happily let us go without any hesitation. Played Red/ Blue without any delays. Course was in very good condition. Only get rained on the last four holes. Thank you GGC. Your kind understanding has built a raving fan. I will consider playing here more often, recommend this course to anyone and always speak highly.
Beautiful Day
Arrived close to start time. Went right out Blue to Red. No one in front of us until the turn and that threesome let our twosome play through. Course in very good shape except the traps which is the case with most public courses. Enjoyed the round and the great weather.
This course always fun to play. It could use a little care by golfers replacing divots and repairing ball marks. Other than that it was a fun round.
