About
Apollo Elks Country Club, situated just northeast of Pittsburgh, is considered one of the area's must-play golf courses. It has appeal for a wide range of skill levels with a layout that is challenging enough for seasoned golfers but also not too difficult for beginners to approach. There is an interesting mix of holes ranging from reachable par 5s to short, tough par 3s and each hole has a distinct character. The greens are fast and the gently rolling terrain provides some subtle breaks that can be tricky. Bunkering is sparsely but strategically placed along the fairways and greensides. There are also a few water hazards that come into play at Apollo Elks Country Club. The round has plenty to hold your attention but don't forget to stop and admire the beautiful western Pennsylvania scenery.

Very Disappointing
Arrived about 40 minutes early for our foursomes tee time only to not be able to find anyone in the checkin area. Waited 10 to fifteen minutes and still no one available. No carts were available either. Finally someone showed up only to tell us they had an outing in progress and they only have 30 carts and all were in use for the outing. Was told after 2 PM they should have carts. This was 40 minutes after our scheduled tee time. Tried to cancel through GolfNow. Waited until almost 2 before carts available. Course was in ok shap but cart paths were in terrible condition. Greens ok but a number of fairways were under repair and some impassable. Very disappointed in lack of service and poor quality.
Great value
The course was in decent shape considering the time of year. The pace was smooth and the staff very friendly.
Nice early April round
The course was is good shape for this early in the season. Greens were very consistent and rolled true. Pleasantly surprised.

Good condition considering the weather we have been having.

Nice greens and tee boxes. Many par 4 holes. Liked the course. But the cart paths are quiet rough.

Other than the cart paths being horrendous it's a great course to play

Nice wide fairways well kept fair to all ages greens are semi fast nice contours with readable breaks. Would play here anytime

A good course for the m oney, nothing great but good.
Apollo Elks
The course was in good condition considering the amount of rain recently experienced. I personally enjoyed it as it is, in my opinion, an expansive property. Some green to tee rides are a beautiful jaunt through the woods so follow the signs. The greens were in impeccable condition and sometimes deceiving. The fairways were well maintained and the roughs were as they should be. Thoroughly enjoyed the round.
