Apollo Elks Country Club
About
Apollo Elks Country Club, situated just northeast of Pittsburgh, is considered one of the area's must-play golf courses. It has appeal for a wide range of skill levels with a layout that is challenging enough for seasoned golfers but also not too difficult for beginners to approach. There is an interesting mix of holes ranging from reachable par 5s to short, tough par 3s and each hole has a distinct character. The greens are fast and the gently rolling terrain provides some subtle breaks that can be tricky. Bunkering is sparsely but strategically placed along the fairways and greensides. There are also a few water hazards that come into play at Apollo Elks Country Club. The round has plenty to hold your attention but don't forget to stop and admire the beautiful western Pennsylvania scenery.

I’m used to play mid to high end courses in Central Indiana. 12 hdcp
Pros- gorgeous weather, course has mostly recovered from a severe heat wave.... the fairways had burnt up patches but was still pretty good. The greens were plush and true! The staff was friendly and accommodating. Great course layout- picturesque and semi- open.
Cons- the cart paths were treacherous half the time but manageable.
Overall- great course and worth the coin. Will return when in the area.
Great Greens
The greens keeper, Bob Rosenberger, is to be commended for the superb condition of the greens! They made it a pleasure to play!
Course I’m great condition as always
I play here frequently. The heat we have seen over the past month has tormented most courses in the area. Apollo Elks greens are still immaculate and the course is overall in great shape. The fairways are a little dry, but all of the 90+ degree days we have had will do that.
Overall a great experience and value for the money. Will be back for sure.
Enjoyable Round
Tees & Greens were very good & considering the dry weather the fairways were in fair condition ; Course has its share of blind shots which made it challenging , I believe any golfer would enjoy playing this course !
Nice greens, great pace of play, lots of wildlife
Had a nice 4th of July round at the Elks Course with my friend.
Course has improved over the past 2 years. Greens were in great shape and wildlife and birds were plentiful.
Excellent course
This course was excellent. Tee boxes, fairways, sand and greens were in spectacular shape. The only reason why I couldn’t rate it 5 stars was the parking lot and the Carth paths. As long as golf goes, it a 5 star course.
Ugliest course I’ve played
Dried out fairways. Unsafe cart dirt trail. Two enormous piles of rubble. Inconsistent greens. Fairways have never been watered. Can’t believe they charge money for this course. Nice staff.
Greens are Great-Everything Else Needs Help
The course needs some attention. I don't think there was a single cart path with asphalt. Many paths are rough...with ditches and gullies...and you are riding over tree roots. Directional signage between some holes is present but could use some more. Greens are in great shape. No brown patches.
Great Value
The greens are very well maintained. The cart path is rough. It’s a great course for the price.
Don’t be hate n
Very much enjoyed the course. Ended up joining up with two regular members who had very little patience for my twosome.
Nice day on the course
Course is in nice shape. Greens are a little slow, but hold the ball well. A couple soggy spots here and there, but we did just have an inch and a half of rain in the area yesterday so that was expected, but not hindering play at all. This is the third time I've played here this year and with a hot deal of under 22 dollars it's hard to beat! Played in 3 hours 45 minutes.
I would suggest taking bug spray or the gnats will drive you crazy.
Played alone. Caught up to a foursome that moved and played like they were 100 yrs old. Wouldn't let me play through. Acted like they owned the place. So I didn't finish my 18 holes.
