Raven's Claw Golf Club in Limerick Township: One of southeastern Pennsylvania's premier golf destinations
POTTSTOWN, Pa. -- Raven's Claw Golf Club in Limerick Township is one of southeastern Pennsylvania's premier golf destinations.
Raven's Claw consistently ranks in the top 10 golf courses in Pennsylvania. Carved from rolling hills and mature forests, this Ed Shearon design requires creative shot-making. The layout incorporates plenty of variety to keep even the best golfers on their toes.
High handicappers might struggle a bit on the course, but it's not overwhelming. The par 4s are short and challenging, and the par 5s are tricky, too. But most of the par 3s are pleasantly playable, though the 17th might possibly be one of the most difficult par 3s you'll encounter. This tough hole plays uphill with a double-tiered green and danger to the right.
Thoughtful strategy and accurate shot placement will be greatly rewarded throughout the course while missing the greens could result in double bogeys or a dreaded three-putt finish. Strategically placed bunkers frame the undulating greens as well as contoured mounding. Raven's Claw Golf Club is by no means easy, but the challenges are fair, and golfers of any skill level will appreciate the quality of the design.
