Reviews of this course were very favorable and now I see why. The greens are in excellent condition and the course is well maintained. The only negative was the staff. They were curt and gruff. I hope it was just a bad day and not the norm. This is a gem and I’ll be back.
First Class
A small hometown country club. I do mean country . The staff, amenities, cleanliness I could go on, make this a truly warm welcoming place to play golf. I have not traveled far and wide to play golf and really have no need to. River valley provides all the needs of my golfing expectations .. Larry and Mike and their staff are true testaments to love of golf and home rolled in to one. As educators they passed on their love of education to their students, as golf club managers they provide the same level of commitment. Kudos to you both and to your friendly staff right down the line to the high school students that wash the carts after each use. Keep up the good work . Denny Fitzwater is the third leg of the triangle. The course conditions are all you need to see to understand his level of commitment. Congratulations to all on a first class product. Great Course and Atmosphere
Friendly staff and course was in great shape. Wish it didn’t start raining so we could have played 18 but we will definitely make the 40 minute trip back to play again.
One of Cornish’s Best
This was an unexpected find and one of Cornish’s best golf courses. I am normally or a huge fan of his courses, but this one does not play like his courses at all. Course has several areas of unique terrain that he used to create many fun and different gold holes. The holes across the road were fun to play and had terrific views.
Highly recommend playing this course.
Hidden Gem
This course definitely out in rural area but layout and condition are really cool and well kept. The view from the highway does not do it justice was really surprised probably the best course in a 30 mile radius in many ways.
