Rittswood Golf Club

I rarely write reviews for golf courses; however, I feel that the four stars that this course has is highly overstated and needed to be corrected. I got there on a Sunday and expected a fun round by myself. I got there and was not allowed to play by myself even though the course was empty. The lady in charge (who was on a complete power trip) warned me that next time if I was not 20 minutes early, she would charge me an extra $10. I was 15 minutes early. I got paired up with three other guys and asked for my own cart. That was not allowed. There was a sign on the inside of what I guess you can loosely call a clubhouse that stated there was a $10 charge for being grumpy. I asked if I could at least get a six pack of beer and it was a DRY COURSE. Great. Now I cant even take the edge off. Its burning hot outside; no water fountains. You could buy water bottles, but it was cash only and the ATM did not work. Finally, to top it all off, the course was in terrible condition and very hard due to a weird design with doglegs everywhere and ground under repair. Do yourself a favor and just choose a different course for your next Sunday round.

Extremely wide open and forgiving. Greens were in good condition, but extremely fast. Makes a 3 putt feel like 2. Was cash only and don't sell beer

Had to follow a group of retired men (16) that slowed the game down. Couldn't play through becasue there was 4 groups. The course was in good shape. Could use some drinking water on the course.

Booked through Golf now and arrived on time on my watch, late on theirs. They informed me I was to arrive at least 10 minutes early, but I didn't expect the delays getting there using my GPS. Staff was very rude about this and wouldn't honor my golf now purchase to allow me to pay up to the rate. Had to pay again and call to fix the bill. Course itself was okay. Greens were nice, fairways were stone and very dry. Tee boxes were pretty awful. If I got a screaming deal I'd go again but overall expected more from other reviews.

Course was fine but seemed to be a bit anti Golfnow. Dispite a tee box open for over 30 minutes they made us wait and go out as a foursome with the other Golfnow group in the time slot after our booked time. Definitely slowed pace down and was an inconvenience. I have played there many times with just two people and that never occurred before. Seemed like this I s limited to just the hot deals under Golfnow.

Course was in great shape. Better get there 20 minutes early. Was told I would be refused next time I showed up with only 5 minutes to spare.

Walk up pay (cash) and go to the first (or 10th) tee. Play nine or eighteen. No worries about jeans or t-shirts. This is just golf, and the staff here trust their patrons to do just that. Greens are good. Conditions are good. Layout grows on you over time. The more I play Rittswood the more I appreciate this unpretentious western PA golf course.

Course is in great shape 8/25/16. No sand on the course but the greens are small and fast. Fairways are a few steps below country club quality. Wide open layout no lost balls. Love the course will play it again.

Fairways a little rough on a few holes. First time but not a bad course had a good time.. Wide open with no traps or water except for one hole but no problems

For the dollars Rittswood is the course. Great layout, forgiving course yet very challenging. Greens are great and very tricky.
I enjoy this course because of all the above and then some.

Course had some challenging par 5s but love the friendly staff and course layout. With more attention on the Fairways this course could be something special

Course is very well kept, tee boxes are perfect, fairways are well trimmed and greens are short and pretty fast. We got a hot deal so the value was great for $20. The staff was not very friendly, we showed up 5 minutes early and they told us next time to make sure we showed up earlier, doesn't really make sense especially because the course was not busy at all that day. No hazards at all which makes the course fairly easy, but there are some blind shots that make it challenging. Pro shop only takes cash. Would play this course again but only at the hot deal rates.

Lots of blind shots. Good course. More straight putts than you would think.

The course is well maintained. I enjoyed the layout and the greens. No sand traps or water to navigate which takes some of the challenge out of playing the course. The owners are very friendly and accommodating.
