Opened in 1923, Reading Country Club is one of the area's oldest golf courses. Located less than a half hour from King of Prussia, the course is easily accessible from anywhere in the greater Berks County area. Though it has a traditional layout that doesn't have the length that most modern courses do, that hasn't stopped it from being one of the most challenging public golf courses in Berks County. The rolling terrain provides a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. The course will test you with lightning fast, undulating greens that are protected by sand traps and there is punishing rough bordering the narrow, tree-lined fairways. Be prepared for uphill shots and blind approaches throughout the golf course. Reading Country Club's par 3s are especially notable for their difficulty.

Its a great old course , thats in the best shape it ever was. The greens are the best and toughest around. The greens keeper and pro have been doing a great job improving the course. Its one of if not the hardest course in the area. Most of the reviews are old and not true as of today. This course is truly a gem and Im glad its in my backyard. Its getting better every year , keep up the great work Brian and Tom!

Its a shame what has happened since it was purchased by the surrounding Township, used to be a great "old course". Condition seems to get worse every year. Overly oriced for conditions you get. Staff not real friendly, and snack bar was a disappointment

It may have lost some luster, but hey, YOU CAN PLAY IT NOW. Great old course.

A country club in name only, it has lost it luster since becoming public. Its upkeep is indicative of what happens when a private enterprise is taken over by the government. If you can get a deal and don't pay over $30 for your round it's still not worth it.
