Bad water issues
Played the challenge course and the course conditions were horrendous. Course doesn’t do well with any kind of weather.
White Deer Heritage(Challenge)
Tough course for many average to below average golfers like me! Many deep soft sand bunkers and plenty of water. Lost several balls on front nine to water and woods but did much better on back nine. Overall a fun day and course was in excellent shape except that hole 16 was closed for bunker reconstruction. Would definitely play again.
Unfriendly staff
Staff attempted to kick us off the course on hole 13 at 7:30pm....because, "They were getting paid and there were only two carts on the course". Young staff members pulled up behind on several occasions to ask us to come in to the clubhouse so they could go home. We finished the round because we drove an hour to play. Left a message at the proshop for an explanation, but have not heard back as to why this happened.
You shouldn't be to disappointed if your looking for somewhere new to play.
With a little more upkeep from the grounds crew this course could truly be something special. Playing from the tips came offer a completely different perspective of the course. The greens can vary depending on the time of year but during peak season they are generally smooth and quick. The bunkers could use a bit more sand in them and the rough isn't too punishing for ball striking. The layout itself if what really gives the course its potential. Very difficult to walk with a lot of hills and a good quarter to half mile between holes 3 and 4. All in all you shouldn't be to disappointed if your looking for somewhere new to play.
