Flat Bush is our favorite course
We enjoy playing at Flat Bush. The course is in great shape and it gives you a challenge on most of the course. I feel the back nine are more of a challenge then the front. I also feel that both the front and back nine are two different courses, that is the way it should be. Most of the greens are small but doable. Out only complaint is that the carts are never cleaned. In the past 8 times playing there they have never been cleaned. You can fine a lot of other peoples stuff in a cart. If it was not for Golf Now we would not play there because they are over priced. The senior discount is no discount at all. I do believe that back in the day this was a premier course.
Very Surprised
When I booked this round I didn’t know what to expect. With the price point I figured it would be a less than immaculate experience, boy was I wrong! The greens were the best that I had played all year, it’s almost like they were fake but nope real as it gets. The fairways and the overall course layout were fantastic. My only complaint were the tee boxes. They didn’t match the greens what so ever, needed to be cut, and possibly re-grown. Other than that it was a wonderful experience and I will definitely be back.
Good course, just a few concerns
Overall, it was a good round on a decent course. There were just a few concerns. First, apparently there is a difference in price between what GolfNow quoted for tee times and what the course was actually charging. It would have been a few dollars more at the course. However, the price for walking was a great bargain at just $20. It was $47 to ride. Pace of play was a little slow, at 4 1/2 hours for our round. Additionally, the layout on the front 9 has the holes very close to each other. We had one ball land in our tee box, and another on our green. The bunkers were inconsistent, with different sand in some of the bunkers. And apparently raking the bunkers is too much trouble for most of the players. They were not smooth. Footprints, etc were not raked at all. Lastly, the course had just been aerated, so the greens weren’t great. However, the layout of the course, especially on the back 9, will bring me back.
