Stone Hedge Country Club
About
The Endless Mountains surround Stone Hedge Golf Course in Factoryville, providing a scenic landscape of lush, rolling hills and grassy meadows covered with mature trees. The layout offers a variety of fairways that range from generous and wide-open to narrow and tree-lined. The true, fast greens offer a challenging but fair test. Each hole has a unique character, offering different challenges that include strategically placed bunkers and tricky doglegs. There is also ample water coming into play throughout the golf course. The course starts in a valley surrounded by hills but moves into the woodlands on the back nine. The first nine holes are more forgiving than the latter half of the course. The excellent service and well designed layout have earned Stone Hedge G.C. the reputation of being one of the best golf courses in the Northeast.

Needs improvement. Has so much potential.
This course could be one of the best in the area, and I do empathize COULD. The layout is very challenging and there are some amazing views, but some improvement is desperately needed. I reviewed this course last year about this time and I have not seen any improvement on areas I pointed then. Most of the tee boxes are not level. Some have more undulation than the greens. And the sand traps, they seem more like dirt traps. For near $50 on the weekend, I expect the conditions to be so much better. I've seen better tee boxes and sand traps at a $9 executive course. And you're going to charge me $49 for this? Hey, grounds crew, time to wake up and do some work.
very good shape
cart paths could use some modernizing, sandtraps should be taken care a little better, i suggest you play it, it is worth the drive
fairways and greens are exceptional
I have played the course several times and it is always in great shape. Post round burgers in the grillroom are the best.
Good Course
Nice course, first time playing it. The only complaint I would have is the unevent tee boxes. Other than that it was a great round of golf on a beautiful course.
Worth playing
I have played this course for a couple years now and enjoy the challenge. If you don't drive straight especially on the back 9 your in trouble. Par 4 and 5's are narrow and sloped. It presents a nice challenge and ball placement is key.
Since last year the tee boxes were Improved and the fairways were better. Grounds were nicely groomed.
My only complaint is the Bunkers still need work. Im not sure why they can't keep a decent amount of sand in the traps but its like trying to hit off the packed dirt.
Peak season its $29 on the weekdays and the best time to play. $39 on the weekend is a tad pricey for this course and you have all the weekend worriers in their groups of 4 and 6 chopping up the joint taking forever. Good thing they don't allow walkers.
Challenging
The course is in amazing condition considering the harsh winter we had here in the northeast. The staff are always anxious to help you have a great experience while on the course or at the clubhouse.
5 1/2 hiur round
Tee times mean nothing here. Our tee time was 2:12pm. never got to the first tee until 3:00 pm. They said "just go to the end of the line". There were 14 players in front of us. Way t o ruin a beautiful day.
Great Value
Course was in great shape for this time of year, greens lightening fast, fairways plush. Sand traps need a lot of work as they were muddy and lacking sand. Otherwise it was a great day, highly recommend this for the price and challenge.
Nice Course could use some upkeep
Greens were really nice. Fairways in good condition. Tee boxes need a lot of work. Bunkers are terrible, hard and have to be raked before you can hit out of them...
Everything but the greens and traps.
Everything about this course is wonderful except the greens and bunkers. Not only does no one fix their ball marks but it appears management doesn't send anyone around to fix them either. As for the sand traps, one cannot tell if they are sand traps or waste bunkers. What a shame for I course I played many times and thought was wonderful.
Overall good
The tee boxes really need help here. Every hole was a challenge to find a flat place to stand. Most greens are good and roll well although there are A LOT of ball marks on the greens. Doesn't anyone know etiquette?
Overall it is a nice challenging course that I would play again.
Very Nice !!
Great time on a great course !!
Highly recommend !!
This course was tough but fair
Had a great time. Got off early and finished in 4 hrs and 15 min. No wait time between holes
Fairways and greens were in excellent shape. Shot an 88 which for me was good since my handicap is 20-24.
Challenging course, but does need a litle work
The course itself seemed to be in pretty good shape for it being as dry as it has been lately in NEPA. Greens and fairways we kept up pretty nice. Some much needed updates are needed on this course. They need a complete overhaul of the tee boxes and clean up the bunkers. Most of the tee boxes are crowned or uneven. It's very difficult to find a flat spot to tee off, well that's at least for where they had the tee markers for the day. The bunkers did have a lot of rocks and other stuff in it. I know it's tough to keep in clean and pristene but they could use a little TLC. If i had to pay the normal green fees to play here, I would have felt i was not getting my money's worth. Got the tee time on a hot deal so I can't complain too much. They put all this money into a very nice club house, now it's time to fix those tee boxes and this would be a true gem.
Challenging
This being the first time playing here it was very challenging. There are many hidden bunkers and dog leg nuances that I wish I had known about before playing. After the round I am looking forward to going back now that I have a feel for the course. If you're a weekend hacker like me bring some extra balls.
Course needs some TLC
This course has always been one of NEPA's jewels but it appears to be slipping lately. This was our first visit this year and we were quite disappointed with the quality of the course, specifically the tee boxes. All 18 tees were crowned and setup was near impossible. Fairways were less than kept and the bunkers and first cut need some attention. This course was immaculate before they built the gigantic new clubhouse. It seems maybe that's where the money and attention have gone lately. I hope they get the course back to its great potential soon.
Great Course
Great course always well kept in wonderful condition.
#2 is nasty, one of the toughest holes in the area hands down
Great COURSE
Played on a busy Saturday. Outstanding conditions and layout. Greens were quick but true. Pace was slow and due to volume old and unsafe carts were issued to us. I travelled almost two hours to play. Was well worth it for the price and course.
Great course
Played this course for the second time ever, which happened to be the second day in a row.
Could not beat the price we paid to play here. This course is excellent. The only down fall is the tee boxes need work.
Couple of the holes (such as #2) play very long. Fairway and greens in excellent shape. Most greens played fast.
My 17 year old son loved it and can't wait to go back.
Staff was very friendly.
#4 is an awesome par three to play. Played 162 over the water with a trap in front of the pin today.
Will play there again this summer.

This was a great course for the price we got on GolfNow.com. ($22 a guy w/tax and cart). Fairways and Greens were in excellent condition. Greens were fast.
There were four golfers in our group and it only took 4 hours to play, including stopping for a hot-dog after nine.
This was my first time playing here but I will be playing here again for sure.
