Course in great shape, greens very smooth and fast

Nov 16 2015 treated us good with a beautiful warm day The course was in very good shape for Nov. I golfed good , and shot a 79. The green had been aerated and putting was difficult. Enjoyed the outing . Mike

We played this course because we were going to be staying at Bedford Springs for a couple days. The course is only 10 to 15 mins from the resort. If you take advantage of one of the golf now deals you get a lot of bang for your buck. Overall the course was in pretty good shape for the amount of rain we have been getting. I recommend giving it a try if you're in the Bedford Area.

I really enjoyed my day at Down River GC. At first glance the course appears open and I'm thinking an easy round of golf. What our group experienced was a well maintained course with plenty of challenges. Strategic placement of bunkers and trees with sloped greens that require a bit more than just luck to post a low round. Great course Down River!

The course was extremely well kept. Greens played lightning quick, which added a bit of a wrinkle in things. All the same, gorgeous weather and a beautiful course made for a thoroughly enjoyable day's play.

Lush grass, well maintained, nice staff, friendly locals that play regularly.

The course conditions were very good. The fairways were nice and the greens were fast. A course that is open off the tee, but if you miss the green, its a tough up and down from anywhere. I play off scratch and always struggle to score well here. Its a very fun course to play, but just be prepared for some tough chip shots.

This would be a great deal at double what I booked it for. Staff was friendly, course in great shape and pace was good.

This was the first time of playing Down River and I must say the course was not what I expected, in a good way. Having played many great golf courses in the Western PA area, Olde Stonewall, Toms Run, Totteridge, I will say that the value this course provides is outstanding. Tees and fairways were in great condition. Greens were very nice, even though the greens were aerated with small aeration holes, but grown in and very smooth. Staff was exceptional. The ownership should be proud of what their maintenance crew and pro shop staff do. If you know this course is in your travels, please stop by and give it a try. Just to let you know, we played with someone who plays there quite often. He stated the greens can be very fast and tricky. I will be back to play this course very soon.

Little soft due to rain but overall good condition

We loved this course very wide open and easy to get around to the holes fast and nobody hurries you the greens were a little bumpy but this is to be expected for the snow only melting a few days ago would go there again. Enjoyed it alot.
