Sand Springs Golf Course
About
Sand Springs Country Club was founded on the same passion that sears the soul of those who play this ancient and wonderful game. The meticulously maintained public par 72 course stretches over 6613 yards. Multiple tee boxes are in place to fairly challenge the skills of all golfers. Bent grass greens tees and fairways are the ultimate playing surface and contribute aesthetically with subtle shading between fairways greens and rough.

Dried out and slow play
I have played this course before and have not found in such dry conditions fairways were browned out. Not a lot of grass on the tees. No ranger to speak of. Had an 11:45 tee time did not tee of until 12:30. 4 foursomes stacked on the first tee. Stuck behind 2 slow twosomes. I don’t know if I’ll play this course again.
Very cold but it was nice.
It was a good time playing golf in this course. No one was playing whole courses except me and my wife. I felt like I owned the property. Anyhow so chilly day we played all around and it was snowing some moment. I’ve never gotten that experience before. Shapes of courses were very beautiful and challenging for all levels of player. Definitely I’ll come back more warm day.
Great Course
The course was in great shape for late October. Leaves blown off fairways and greens in excellent condition. People were great.
Great shape.
Course is in great shape. Pace of play was excellent.
Beautiful
The course was in beautiful shape for September. It was a little slow paced, BUT it was a sunny Sunday Afternoon. I will play again!
Enjoyed my time here
I really enjoyed all the amenities and thoughtful layout of the course including the fresh water coolers and bathroom on the course.
The greens and fairways were lovel.
Food was wonderful and they offer coolers for beer.
Staff was also lovely.
My only con…
Most of the tee-boxes were in bad shape. Dried out with more sand then grass. This issue definitely needs to be resolved, and it is the only reason I am not giving this place 5 stars.
Older resort type
This course was nice to play but it has clearly not been kept to the standard it was built to. The holes are tight and some very unique. The sand traps had little sand and some greens had crab grass in the fringe. Overall, worth the $27 I paid to play but no need to drive an he plus to play each year.
Bedrock
The greens were perfect, the fairways are flawed and the mounds can be punishing. I never seen so many rocks, pebbles, and stones on a golf course. This course in the poconos and must be built on shale. When your ball runs off the fairway the ground is literally rock hard. Overall a good course for a great price.
Great value
Great layout and price. Staff very friendly. Course was in excellent shape other than sand traps. They are terrible.
Ranger needed
Arrived for a 7:44 teetime but did not tee off until after 8:15 due to a group of over 30 being in front of us. We used a rain check for 9 holes to pair with 18 and it was $32 for 9 holes! Don’t waste your money. The bunkers are filled with green disgusting water, and the ones without the green water are basically giant rocks next to the greens. This place used to be nice. Went into the bar to get hot dogs for the turn and we told there would be no food until 11am. Play blue ridge that’s a few minutes away.
Too much leaves. No course maintenance for the fall.
Too many lost balls due to too much leaves on the ground. No maintenance being done.
SLOW SLOW SLOW
3 hours for front 9. No ranger or starter... Fairways have no grass....
