Water Gap Country Club has a dramatically hilly terrain that provides a unique and challenging round of golf. Since opening in the 1920s, the course has played host to a number of major tournaments. The links-style layout features lightning fast, undulating greens and seemingly receptive fairways that are fiercely guarded by mature trees. The elevation changes throughout the golf course guarantee that a flat lie will be hard to find and golfers will have to face several tricky blind shots. Water hazards come into play on five holes and there are also strategically placed bunkers to contend with. Water Gap is formidable test of your shot-making skills to say the least, but there are some birdie opportunities available. The signature hole is the par-3 fourth, which plays from an elevated tee to an elevated green.

Good time
The course was in great shape. Very nice time. Enjoying the 19th hole after the round was also excellent.
What's happened
The course has fallen into disrepair. Very disappointed always enjoyed playing there.
Very nice course
I really enjoyed my second round on this course. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Greens and fairways are excellant. Tee boxes are being renewed so we played up. Next season should be perfect.
This course is beautiful this time a year.
We were lucky enough to see a bald eagle while on the forth tee, all in all a great day spent on this beautiful course with friendly staff and lets not forget they have a nice outdoor bar to have a drink after your round.
First time at this course
This was the first time I played here and will make sure to get back soon. Great condition and great value.
Fairways not cut, difficult to find ball , still nice course
CONDITIONS WERE POOR
COULDN'T DISCERN ROUGH FROM FAIRWAY. TEE BOXES WERE IN BAD SHAPE.
Good learning course
Took my 11 year old here since the price was right and it was not busy. It was a great day for us and then we had a nice meal there as well. As for the course the greens were nice, the fairways and tee boxes were okay. Sand traps, if you can call them that were terrible. The cart part is in ruins.
A lot of blind shots, some don't seem very fair. I would go back again with my son but I wouldn't play there with my friends; too many other courses around in much better shape.!
Excellent course for the price
The course was in great shape, except for the tee boxes, which we're worn down. The greens were in good condition, though a little slow. I love the course layout. All in all it was a great value for the money.
Not worth the Price at $48 Labor Day
Biggest problem - there are no fairways, grass is no better than my backyard cut low. Will acknowledge that the greens are very good. Many hilly lies. But really - this course needs to establish fairways or lower the prices.
Members
Members were rude. There is a bar at the 15 hole. Members were playing some game to hit the ball from the bar onto the green while we were playing the hole. We had to wait to play the hole. Members at the bar were loud and interfering with play. Pace of play was excellent because there was no one else on the course.
Good time
The course was in good shape. There are a few holes with blind shots. I'm not really a big fan of those types of configurations. The pace was good as I was playing by myself and played through another twosome. It was approximately a 3 hour round. I would recommend giving this course a try.
Not well-maintained and bad course design
Course design: fingerlike layout. Many times a teebox is right behind the green. You have to drive your cart on the same path 4 times to get to different holes. Many fairways are too narrow and entirely sidehill, making it impossible for drives to stay on the "fair"way.
Course maintenance: Fairways are horrible. It's like my backyard lawn cut way short. Mixture of lowcut weeds and grass. Even if you hit in the fairway, you sometimes can't find your ball in the grass. The fairway is so bad it makes it impossible to hit a fairway wood because the grass is too deep. The rough is gnarly. The areas around the greens have terrible grass/weeds. The tee boxes are chopped up and look like the staff hasn't taken any efforts to fix that.
Overall, my friend and I both agree we won't be playing this course unless we find a $10 deal or something really cheap. It's not even worth the $24 we paid.
Finally, the people who play here are just rude in general. They drive their carts into your fairway while you're in the middle of your shot. Another reason to hate "fingerlike" course layouts.
Glorious Mountain Course
This course location gives new meaning to the term, "God's Country" It offered quite a challenge to these two bogie golfers, but the beauty of it all, it didn't matter. We can't wait to return in the Fall for the foliage. This course is on our list to play once a month.
Course had some good features. Great views, very hilly
The greens were extremely slow and the tees were weedy With little grass. The staff in the pro shop was very friendly. The outside bar was very nice.
Always a good time
We like playing here. The staff is great and the course is not too challenging. Nice views of the surrounding area. Especially beautiful in the fall. Mid-week Hot Deal worked out to 16.50/pp including GN fees.
Finally someone was honest about this place! Very accurate description...the tee boxes are unplayable and the course layout is a disaster with the fairway grass (if you call it that) is too deep.
