Going for 20
For 19 years twenty or so of us have gone to Clarion Oaks on a golf outing. From Karen the owner to Mark the pro shop manager to Beth the restaurant major domo, we receive service in a personable and professional manner.
The course is always taken care of. The front nine starts out open for 3 three holes tight for three then open again for the last trio--meandering through the woods. The back nine is more of a links course for six holes before going to gently rolling fairways. The real challenges come on the greens--sloping and quick---though not as fast as in the past. Even the level greens have subtle breaks.
For a pleasant afternoon on the links, Clarion Oaks is the place to visit. Jim Hubert
Nice Course
This is the first time playing this course. The wife and I decided to go somewhere different and came across this course on Golfnow. The first 9 holes were a little challenging as the fairways were little tight. The back 9 was wide open. The greens are a little tricky as the slope in many ways. Nice course layout. Not that many hazards. I would play there again.
Fun course
Fun course to play, enjoyed playing there
nice course
Nice course, and very affordable for the working man to go on his day off.
Good Course
Course is well kept. Average players will not lose many balls. Front nine has some challenging dog-legs. Greens are nice and are more difficult than your average greens. Chipping can be challenging depending on your approach.
excellent municipal course
great value for your money, friendly staff, great layout. Fast play even though a twosome tried to jump on 10 when we were coming off of 9.
clarion oaks
good mix of holes long ,short will use all 14 clubs
Pleasant find
Read the 2 reviews before deciding to drive over an hour to get here. It was well worth it! The course was in excellent condition.. from tee box to greens. One can tell they put time & money in this course. It is a relatively open play course with a few holes that will challenge accuracy on tee shots. Met several other players and owner.... could not have made us feel more welcome. It was a really good experience and recommend trying this course. I know I will be back!
Tough greens to putt
A real challenge. Fairly open and with wide fairways. The greens are ALL sideways. Very sloped and every putt is a challenge. No gimmes on this course. It's one minute off of Interstate #80. It would be a great place to stop and play to take a break from a long driving across #80. I'm looking forward to stopping again!
This course has great features.
The staff is very friendly and make you feel welcomed. The course is challenging and the price is very fair.
