Beautiful day in the sun
Even though the greens had been plugged and top dressed, they rolled smoothly and true. Pace of play on front 9 was excellent. Beginning with hole 10 we waited behind a foursome that had teed off 30 minutes before we did. On most holes we were walking off the green before they had finish teeing on the next hole. We asked if we might play through but were refused. It was still an enjoyable round with friends.
Great value
Great course. Cart paths are just fine. Fun to play. Maybe a overzealous hole placement or two. ;)

Interesting golf course
Greens were a little rough. Fairways and tee boxes were good. A couple of short par 4s but one super long par 3 and three very long par fours. 2 90 degree dog legs. One water hole. Sand traps everywhere and in really good shape.
Slow Play
The Course was in good shape for the drought we are in. It is laid out well. Because of the dry conditions the fairways are browning out but not as bad as other courses in the area. The greens for the most part held better than other courses in the area. The only problem we had was the very slow pace of play. We sat on every tee box for at least 5 minutes waiting for the fairway to clear enough to hit. There was a threesome in front of us and a foursome in front of them and then at least one open hole in front of them.

Play was somewhat slow and with the dry weather the ground was mostly brown and hard. We got 18 holes and cart for 21.50 each with a good discount from Golfnow. I wouldn't pay much more even if the grass was green.
Well taken care of.
This was our second time playing Hiland Golf Course. Great course, well manicured, clean, well marked holes. Wasn't keen on them letting out leagues around the noon hour in front of us on the turn. They did let us play through though.
Course in Great Shape
The Hiland Golf Course Greens keeping/!maintenance crew deserves this shout-out for great fairways and greens conditions after 10 days without rain and 90 degree temperatures. You’ve done a great job keeping this course in great shape!!!
