Wyncote Golf Club
About
Wyncote Golf Club in Oxford is one of the most challenging courses in the area. The heathlands layout feels like a links course with wind being an important factor and thick fescue coming into play. The golf course starts with an especially tough front nine but there are more scoring opportunities on the back. Mounded bunkers and moguls define the movement of the fairways and though there aren't many trees, if you don't keep your shots straight you might find yourself out-of-bounds or lost in the high, wiry grass. Sidehill lies await you as well as a few blind shots. Wyncote's greens have little undulation but the lightning fast putting surfaces are a challenge for players of all skill levels. With a few "grip it and rip it" holes mixed in, Wyncote Golf Club is a tough but fair test.

Solid course, but overpriced for what it is.
This is a solid course, it's well maintained and the greens roll nice, but this is not a top tier course by any stretch, compared to the DC area this course is over-priced for the quality. It's a links style and not super entertaining, typical course within a residential area. The quality of the greens and fairways is the only appeal here, certainly not the layout. I'm told they can charge a premium because this area lacks good tracks, so very little competition. The staff seems pretty proud of the place, but then they charge you $5 for a tiny bucket of very crappy old range balls, this is not how a "good" course operates. We played it because it was 1/2 way between a few friends, I'd play it again but hold my nose at the greens fee. Some of the other reviews said they liked it better than Bulle Rock, to each his own but I completely disagree.
Rough is up
Big price to pay for missing fairways and greens. Easy to loose them in this rough. Overall outstanding conditions. Bunkers dont drain well.
Must Play
It’s a public course that has a country club feel. It’s a must play if you’re ever in or around the area.
Course in excellent condition
From the tee box to the greens, Wyncote was in excellent shape. I will be playing there again soon!
Pace of Play
My wife and I followed three men who were all over the place. We waited on every hole and were never asked to play through. This course requires you to stay in the fairways, thus if you are chasing your ball please be courteous to other golfers and let them through. Play ready golf!!
Favorite course I’ve played
First time playing this track, but my favorite course I’ve played in Pennsylvania.
Winter Golf
Played in high winds and snow squalls. Course is amazing and don’t miss the new restaurant menu, food was next level.
Course great shape for month of March
The course was in great shape for March and pace of play was 3 hours for 18 played thru 3 groups.
Best course around
If you want to experience Chester County’s best golf, look no further. Wyncote is a challenging, beautifully designed and maintained links-style course. It is a public golf course with a private feel.
Other than aerating...
For mid-March, I was quite happy with the course. An interesting layout, fair price, friendly staff, pace of play was great for a 70 plus degree rarity on March 18th. I was surprised to see the greens have been aerated earlier in the week which made them, well you know, not the best. Quite surprised to see that had happened since it had just snowed one week earlier.
GolfNow should notify when greens are aerated
Course had areas where they had just conducted a controlled burn on fescue and tall growth. The greens are still bumpy from being aerated. Got a good rate for twilight and completed our round in 3 hours and 20 minutes. Please add prisms to your flagsticks to help rangefinders lock onto the target.
GolfNow has to do a better job notifying its customers of course conditions that will affect their round.
Good, but aerated greens currently
Course was very nice, fairways/teeboxes well kept. However, greens are aerated right now and very sandy. This more so applies to all courses, but I think they should be required to give you a heads up about that before you book a tee time.
A perfect day!
The last minute I decided tonight wanted to go out and take advantage of the nice weather. When I arrived at the club I was about an hour early for my tee time and the Club professional told me that I could go off immediately if I choose to by myself. I looked around, the skies are blue no wind the course was wide open so I decided to take him up on his offer. This allowed me to play by myself a great practice round hitting two and three balls practicing my same shirt and practicing my putting. It was absolutely a perfect day. I played in three hours which isn’t necessarily great by yourself however considering I spent so much time processing I couldn’t have spent three hours better anywhere for this activity. The course is challenging you had fun the left is great course conditions are good and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
